Long Shot/Part Needed

This is a long shot. I need the metal cover for one of the control knobs on my Akai GX 280D SS. See pic below. I don't need the whole knob but I'll take what I can get. The metal cover that goes on the knob on the right is the one that I lost while cleaning and yes I have ripped my work area apart to no avail.
Thanks all...

You might want to post a photo with a ruler adjacent to the knobs to give a sense of scale :- )
Without knowing the size, I have one thought/suggestion. Perhaps (?????) the 'bright' from one of these knobs might be 'close enough'.

These (several different versions) are sold by Antique Electronics Supply as replacement knobs for Marshall (guitar) amps -- they are cosmetically quite similar to many vintage HH Scott amp and receiver knobs and are available with both brass and aluminum "brights". No idea if the size is anything like your AKAI knobs, but it seemed worth mentioning. Take a look at the wares AES has:

Otherwise, eBAY may be your best bet. Another good source of knobs are local or regional "hamfests" or antique radio fleamarkets. Both are quite common here in the Northeast (where there are dwindling but still substantial numbers of aging, balding, overweight, middle-class [mostly] white, bespectacled guys who buy, sell, and trade stuff like this!). I'll bet there are some near you, too!
As an aside, I once found not one but two four-channel AKAI carcasses at my erstwhile favorite local emporium (the Harvard, MA town "transfer station" -- aka "the dump")... but they were too far gone for me to deign them worthy of rescue at the time. And, yes, I've regretted that decision more than once.
(oh, and of course, that's where the GX-4000D that passed through my basement came from, too)
