I know this has been beat to death but I wanted opinions on what to set the xo at with these speakers especially since I am now running them on an Emo xpa 200. I also have a cs 20 and 4 monitor 60 surrounds. Maybe there are some electro mechanical reasons for changing it from the 80hrtz I was using with a stand alone rx-a1040? Thanks

Since you have the 70's with 4 drivers that are rated down to I think 38Hz, I would set crossover to 40 or 50 and see how it sounds. If you are not taking advantage of the 70's over the 60's specs, then why bother. If you cross over at 80Hz you may as well go with good bookshelfs. Just my opinion and not more important than how it sounds in your room to you....

TNHNDYMAN 70's are 30Hz-25kHz and 60's are 38Hz-25kHz . I guess that's why the YAPO put it at 40 after I added the amp. I guess it knows more than me but that's not saying much lol. Thanks I will try it.

Try all settings 40/60/80 & go with what sounds best to you in your room. Also move your sub around the room to find it's best spot (if feasible). Sometimes you have to put the sub in a less than ideal spot due to room constraints. Here's a great article that will answer some of your questions as to why a sub even with floorstanders. There's an awful lot of confusion out there as to how well one's floorstanders can actually produce good bass as it's intended to sound. Hint: there ain't too many & please take the manuf. specs with a grain of salt.
