So I took advantage of the Future Shop sale got them for $787.00 Canadian.

First impressions, big I didn't realize how big until I got them home and set up and the sound big as well.
After I ran the auto calibration and played an few tunes and I have to say I'm impressed as I was a bit concerned that I wouldn't notice enough of an improvement to warrant upgrading to these from the modded Rti a7 but even fresh out of the box these sound good real good.
So now looking forward these burning in. I'm powering them with a Parasound 1500A
So that should be plenty of Juice for these big boys.

Cheers
Roger

Congrats I took advantage of the same sale on boxing day but had to wait until new years eve for them to be delivered. All I can say is wow what sound and bass from such great looking speakers. I've only got them powered with a pioneer sc-1227 with the class D amps, can't wait until I can add amplifier.

    Hello,

Glad you're enjoying the new speakers, As for adding an amplifier well you can never have too much power.

    Cheers

They are great speakers. Probably one of the best in that price range and even higher. I have mine passively bi-amped, have done several mods to them and the sing!

While they did sound great I've since sold them and upgraded again to the 705's and now I'm looking to build a two channel rid with a Pair of SDA's sometime this year.

Congrats on the upgrade. How would you describe the 705's in comparison with the RTi a9's? I have been wondering that for a while. No places near me carry that speaker so I can't audition them.

Well it's been a while now since I switched to the 705's but they are two totally difference speakers. I would have had no problem staying with the 9's but I got a great deal on the 705's so I couldn't pass it up.

So the difference is that the 9's are very good but 705's just does it better, tighter bass, more defined highs, great mids, no listening fatigue at all...I can listen to them for hours and hours.

    Cheers

I hear you. It is hard for me to pass up a good deal, especially if it is something I have been wanting for a while.

I have done several mods to my A9's and even tho I'm very happy with them, I still wonder how much better the 705 or 707 are.
