Could you describe your speakers a bit more as there are the following "2" models, SDA 2, SDA 2A, SDA 2B and the SDA SRS 2.What would be a good choice with out spending a ton of money.
A set dollar amount would help. What do you thing about a Crown XLS 1500
Why do folks think that cheap pro amps have any business powering home audio speakers? How would you rate the SDA's
Give yours a listen and tell us what you think.

Post a picture with grills off.... Are they pin/blade OR blade/blade IC cord. Polk didnt do such a great job marking models of Monitors or SDA's imo. Welcome to Polk & SDA's are a fine speaker
EDIT-- cant post pic. This may help & you may enjoy this site http://www.gimpod.com/sda-id.html.. -
Welcome to the forum.
Most versions of the SDA 2 are great speakers. In fact my SDA 2A's are some of my favorites. 2B's are slightly better than the A's and the SRS 2 should be even better than those but I have never heard a pair to verify.
If you just want to party with a lot of slam a Crown amp may be ok. but then you would probably not enjoy the SDA's. For a good quality sound, no pro amp should be used in your home sound quality rig.
Good luck and Like F1nut was saying; more info would help others here help you much better. If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!
Monitor 5Jr, Monitor 5, RTA12, RTA 15TL, SDA 2A, 1c, SRS 2, 1.2TL, CRS, Atrium. -
I believe Jesse is right on this one. You can get an Adcom gfa555 for $300 all day long almost everywhere and @ 200 watts a side can push just about any speaker us dudes can afford. Also series 1s are common ground so no smoke and flames from the SDAs or the amp. Plenty of other similar amps around but this is what I've had for years and it hasn't failed yet. More specifics on your speakers and if you only see a 2 on the back like mine I had to be informed they were '87 2Bs w/ blade /blade i/c.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E
