Well, on the one hand $489 is high for these. Plus you will need to ship from California.

However.... Those original wood cabs look fantastic. Jesse can weigh in on the products he used to restore the cabinets, but I think they look great. If I factor in the cost of time and materials to re-do my cabinets to get them to look as good as they do, I'd say these are definitely worthy of consideration even at this price.

Also, these are pin/blade, so they are the most desired generation.

Great, I suppose, that he painted the pr grills. I don't use my grills, my pr cavity is not protected. Once I switched over to Larry's rings, the grills became impractical.

If your plan is to start modding these, particularly replacing the tweeters and upgrading the interconnect, you can fairly reliably factor in that you'll be able to sell the SL2000's for $20/tweeter and the original interconnect for $35, so you can factor that in as a $75 rebate.

Why don't you contact the seller and let him know that there is interest but you think his price is high compared to where you have seen these sell?

Although if you look here a pair without the interconnect sold for over $450, so the one you have there is not far off.

I haven't had one bit of buyer's remorse since I did mine.

One thing that keeps the price of these higher on eBay is that while expensive to ship, they are much more cost effective to ship versus any other SDA.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if I heard that someone scores a pair for $250. Maybe a vinyl pair or ones that had wood in need of work. But if you like the oak finish on these and Jesse thinks he did it right for the long term, then not having to fuss with the cabinets can be worth the high price tag.

I then applied two coats of Howards Restore-A-Finish, followed up with Howards Feed-N-Wax...both excellent products which feed and nourish the wood and make the cabinets shine with new life!

Horrible stuff and the "feed and nourish the wood" is total BS. The wood is dead.
