RIP Joe Cocker

His passing as Alvin Lee's was a bit personal to me because I met both those guys when they 1st got to the U.S. and played the Fillmore East. I had a great friend whose family friend was Dee Anthony both their tour manager as well as Peter Frampton's and a bunch of other British bands. This guy you didn't trifle w/ as it was yes sir or no sir and just got out of his way. He and Bill Graham bumped heads many a night. Thing was he had an open door policy for us and as a 16y/o kid seeing the inner workings of the r/r business was a thrill. So anytime his bands played at any venue that we could get to we were in w/ the photographers, models and assorted hangers on. What a ride we had. This year has been
hard on late 60's /70's rockers. Jack Bruce, Joe Cocker,Alvin Lee, Johnny Winter all R.I.P. guys.......
