FS: Infinity RSII Speakers - Recapped - Local Indy Pickup

Photos will be added when I am at the computer with my photos. These are in excellent cosmetic condition and sound/imaging like nobody's business. You need a power amp that can handle low impedance dips that has abundant power. These things are need it. Placement is also important, needs to be several feet away from back/side walls and any large objects or the imaging is impacted.

You need to post a price.

  • Thanks for the reminder...I'm multitasking. $875 my apologies. Let me check my others and make sure I didn't make the same mistake posting from a laptop while watching a movie.

Maybe mmaboxer can bump this right away and get closer to 100.....
  • I don't understand the concept of why folks would extraneously post. Sounds like a waste of time to me. Is post count an arbitrary status metric above and beyond the 100 required to post in the market?

  • I had read the 100 post count limitation that has been a long standing club polk policy but I do not see any specific rules for replying in that section despite it being mentioned.

The post pre dates the new format. Back then you couldn't even access the FM (to buy or sell) without 100+ posts.

  • So are there any new policies I need to be aware of? I see no way to edit my first post so a new message just for photos.2wouj0i4xn0r.jpg

Not really. You have an hour to edit a post now instead of the 10 mins before I think...

Otherwise everything rules wise is about the same.

The just moved from vbulletin to vanilla and updated some stuff, but no real rule changes.

GLWTS! I'm surprised these havent sold locally yet.

Damn I would love to have a pair of those! Love my IIIa's.

  • Someone is in South Bend that drives a semi that is trying to arrange for a load through Indy so in theory they may be sold but I've had too many transactions that didn't go through. At this point until cash is in hand or there is a good faith deposit it's not sold unfortunately.

I often wonder the same thing. There seems to be a few written forum rules and a lot of unwritten etiquette, which you basically just 'get' after spending time reading through the forum.

For instance, I constantly see people list things in the Flea Market without a price and get reprimanded. I agree that the ad should have a price, but I couldn't find any specific rule (although it would not be the first time I missed something... just ask my wife) that says For Sale ads MUST have a price posted. It would be nice to have a sticky, or a list of rules for the Flea Market that was easy to find and refer to. Additionally, sellers occasionally get slapped on the wrist for asking for offers. Personally, I don't see the harm in this if you list a price, don't get any results, and further on in the sale, say 'make a reasonable offer'.

There are a lot of great folks who 'police' the forums, but without having a set rule to point someone to, they often come off as bullies to newcomers who may not know them.

Anyway... back to your sale... those are some nice looking Infinity's GLWTS and Happy Holidays!

Yeah, I am on AK a lot and price is mandatory to list there so it's something I normally am cognizant of, that was just my pure lack of paying attention that caused me to do that. Pretty critical to list a sale price. I also am not sure if I should e responding or if I should wait a few days before saying anything so as not to excessively or rudely 'bump' my postings. If that is the case then kindly let me know I don't want to be 'that guy' by any means. Thank you for the holiday wishes and those infinities were something I lusted after for a long time but as you might be able to see from the photos I AM an addict and now I can't place these in my living room to do them any justice without occluding something else (AR9LSI's in this case) and the rear emits need to bounce off of a back wall to give that sparkle and 'air' that these are know for and bouncing off another speaker baffle isn't going to do that. As a result of this and how damn heavy they are they don't get the airplay they deserve and someone else that is willing to make this their statement centerpiece speaker will get a lot better result than me who is constantly rotating things around, dicking around with placement, etc.
  • Sale pending this evening.
  • Unbelievably the buyer was to pay and pick them up this AM after an audition till 1am last night and was a no show and e-mailed stating he decided not to. These are still for sale.

If he had stayed any later he would've literally slept on it. You should have prodded him for a nonrefundable deposit.

Guy never showed is what John is saying

*edit* been up to late, I get what John was saying....

  • You are probably right but I like people and still have some faith and naivete to me. This is my bad for trusting. It is what it is. He was nice to hang out with even I was really shocked when in the AM instead of showing up to pick them up he e-mailed me to say he passed.

Anyone who gets a pair of this wonderful speakers should
    remove clips/solder direct
    remove fuse to tweeter
    bypass L pad
Add one more wire between woofers and terminals

And now you've got a keeper

Wrong place for this as its supposed to a thread for him to sell them. That said I've muddied it up a bit myself....

But as I'm working on a pair of these myself, please drop into the thread below and expound on your comment as I'm not following you on some of it.

  • Agreed. Plus I prefer the pots which in my case have been prefessionally cleaned and do not have dead spots and the fuse exists for a reason; that reason is why my emits work to this day and haven't been destroyed by a previous owner.

I am sorry but I have to say there is misunderstanding. I was helping the sale by showing what potential these speakers is capable. So...
