Speaker cable brand rec.

For LSI 7s powered by b&k 200.2? Instead of buying blinding, hoping someone here has/had this setup and can narrow the multitude of choices.

I thought you just bought cables from Doug ?

Do you have a sub in the mix ? Also, the 7's are fairly easy to drive, imho...that amp won't strut it's stuff until you put it under a heavier load. As in....harder speakers to drive.

You'll definitely hear an improvement, don't get me wrong, but the little 7's are only capable of so much.

Cables comes down to a matter of preferences. I think Kimber cable would be a decent match for the 7's and B&k amp. Analysis plus would also work well. Too many choices really, maybe better to state what wouldn't work well.

Bought ic's from Doug because I needed these to hook up the amp and using my existing speaker cables.

    I have a Velodyne EQ-Max 15.

And I agree. I should've asked cables to avoid.

NEW question: what cables should I avoid given monster is no. 1?

Monster and monoprice....probably tops to avoid. Since you have a sub, you don't need the speakers to be asked to do more, so maybe a more neutral cable. Analysis plus 12 speaker cables are reasonable and neutral. PNF's may also compliment your gear.

Depends on budget pal, if your using Monster stuff now, pretty much anything will be an improvement. Signal cables top tier speaker cables are decent. Audioquest would work well too. They are a bit more lively and may offset a more laid back LSI sound.

Would like to keep it between $100-125 per 6' cable terminated (new). Been looking for used but they only come in pairs and I need one for the center too.

If I have to buy new, I guess it would be a could idea to get a 6' minimum cable length for resale possibilities, not sure. I could get by with 2-4's and 1-7' but I will never find these used.

What is most important is figuring out where you want your system to go. Cables are the easiest area to 'tune' your rig. What do you not like about your system? What do you want to improve? What is an absolute must have? What do you prefer but can compromise on?

These are in line with the important questions to ask. Once you figure that out, you will get better recommendations.

Thanks for the advice. I agree I need to listen to the system with the amp included and reevaluate the system.
