Interesting convergence on the Polk main page

I was on a different computer today; without a direct link to the Polk forums (fourm.polkaudio.com -- yeah, yeah I should remember, but I am an old guy!) I went to the main Polk page www.polkaudio.com

Imagine my surprise to see a nubile woman applying a vinyl to a record player, thus:

Now, the interesting part of this, to me isnt' the woman (I told you I was old!) but... what's the hifi gear? Well, I'll tell you... I'm not sure. I look at that receiver and the only thing that jumped into my mind was... a Radio Shack "Modulaire" compact component "hifi".

If not that, maybe an old (early 1970s), pre-Technics Panasonic... I dunno.

Haven't even tried to ID the rekkid playa... yet...

indeed - I am curious about the album cover visible in the foreground, too... but there's just not enough resolution in the photo to make much of anything out.

I cannot even tell if the tt has an S-shaped arm. My sense is that it does; that it's an early-mid 70s Japanese tt... but I absolutely cannot tell.

I do think the 'receiver' is an early 1970s Panasonic, though (although it ought to have some push-button or toggle switch controls on the front panel, methinks, if it were thus).

I thought it was a good throwback pic. Catalogs used to look like that. I like it.
Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.
  • she is a throwback. Rip in the knee of her jeans and wears a watch.
    Asylum record?

The album cover is of the band Haim. I don't mind them but they are definitely a newer group.
