Parasound Amp Help

I will be running the Polk LSIM 707s
I am currently trying to decide on the Parasound 2250 v.2 vs the Halo A21
My receiver is the Onkyo TS-NR 838
I listen 50/50 Music HT
I would currently power 706 Center and 702 surrounds with the Onkyo
Any suggestions between the 2250 and A21 would be very helpful as the A21 is quite a bit more

I'd like to hear the input on this as well.
I had to do some reading. at first I thought the 2250 was discontinued and that the A21 was newer, but that's not exactly the case. 2250 v2 is still in production as well. first gen 2250 discontinued as of this year, apparently.
for anything music, I'd be inclined to go A21 over the Model/New Classic line, just from what I've read in some reviews and from discussions with others with way more experience than I, esp if it were to see dedicated music at any point, or with a preamp like the P5. If it will live in 50/50 music/ht and always with the AVR, I'd consider the 2250 v2 for cost savings if significant enough a factor.
I read this over the summer.

I think the Halo is John Curl; is the 2250 v2 as well?Post edited by msg onI disabled signatures. -
My dilemma is the cost of the 2 is the A21 worth going for. ??

You will be happy with the 2250. The Halo is a better amp, but with your 838 as a preamp, I'm not sure the difference will be fully realized.
I'll second that opinion. Unless of course you plan on getting a dedicated pre amp soon, then the Halo would be my choice of the 2.

Thanks for all of your help! -
I am with Tony and Skip...
If you were going with a dedicate pre eventually, the A21 (or A31 or A51) would be your huckleberry.
Using the Onkyo, the 2250 is a solid performer."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."
"Unwad those panties and have a good time man. We're all here to help each other, no matter how it might appear." DSkip -
Good luck with the 2250. I use it to power my 703's an love it.

......and that's exactly why I personally don't throw too much weight at spec sheets. Seems to me some are more interested in creating a marketing scheme rather than gear that simply sounds good.HT SYSTEM-
