LSiM702 Placement
Hey guys, anyone had any experience with the LSiM702's?
I have a situation where I'd like to add two 702's, but my space is a bit screwy and I'm trying to figure out whether they'll work given any setup/mounting recommendations or constraints I'll need to consider. Page 9 of the literature has some info (attached, and also here's a link to the pdf; http://bit.ly/1wiVeyX)
My space is basically a big open room, a bit of an L shape, with the system more left and forward. I can do pretty much anything on the left wall, but my right wall is shorter and further from the listing/viewing position. I know I can probably adjust levels for the distance difference, but the right speaker would have to be mounted forward of the listening position. just no getting around it, unless i were to hang it from the ceiling, which I don't want to do. also don't really want to shift the listening/viewing position forward.
also, anyone have any experience with the mount height? according to this, 6-8ft is acceptable? how much room, if any, do these need from the ceiling? I would want them as out of the way as possible.

My new room which will be a 7.2 LSiM setup will have some issues too with openings and windows and hi to low ceilings etc. So I suspect the room correction utility in my AV Pre pro will need to address those issues. In FL everything seems to have open floor plan living spaces. I'll have the 702's on the backwall and the 703's on the sides with the 705's and 706 up front. It'll be challenging but my previous layout was less than optimum too, but I did get some incredible sound. Can't wait to get it setup and to tweak with it.My New Year's resolution is 3840 × 2160

nice!!!
how high will you mount the 702's? will your back wall be the high part in a high to low? I think I've got a decent visual from what you're describing.
do you know whether the 702's need room at the top? the literature says "safely clears obstacles/ceiling" but not really sure what that means.
how are you going to situate your 703's?
what was your previous room setup like?I disabled signatures. -
No direct experience with the 702's but its not had to see that it will be a challenge to get it to work. The right side would fire to the front! Look at the diagram I made:
Either mount them on the ceiling or sit on a stand to get the best positioning. If that is just not in the cards them maybe try to move the RIGHT speaker to the LEFT side and vice versa....so that the drivers are firing back. Then play with positioning of both sides. The goal is to get the sound to fire to the rear to get some back wall reflections.

Walt! YES! that's pretty much exactly what I'm dealing with. room is a little deeper to the rear with the addition of the space opening up to the right at about 2/3 down that right wall, and to the left at about 5/8 the way back.
I was just getting ready to ask what you drew this in! haha, but then realized maybe you just cut and pasted stuff to relocate?
since my place is in reno, I'm also considering building a small 1/3 to half height wall/surround to the rear and sides of the seating/viewing area, to enclose it a bit and make for locations for tables to place speakers.I disabled signatures.
