I bought this from another member on the forum and never used it. Here is a link to the original thread with pics. I will let it go for $1400 shipped as I never used it.

    I know right? lol.

I switch stuff around all the time and have too much respect for this to turn it off and on like I did with the dared mc7p. Tubes man! you gotta leave them switched on and once you turn the pre off you gotta leave it off for a while.

Well thats what I do, I like to play around with all the diff components and cables but your right. Its now harder to get a real feel for the strengths than it is for the weaknesses. Every now and then something really hits home as awesome but those are the pieces that get sold right away. My biggest thing right now is the Theta Enterprise mono blocks that I dare not list, many have said them to be shy of bass but I dont notice, even with my power pig Vista speakers.

Last night I watched planet of the apes with the Theta Dreadnaught powering the Stage X center and Electromotion rears with the Enterprise mono blocks for the fronts all hooked up to a Krell 1200 doing true HD. I can tell you that its the best I have ever heard a movie in my life.

In summary, you sometimes know how some gear sounds right away without any settle in time.

While I haven't heard the VK-30, I own a VK-31 and used to own a VK-3i and am very highly recommending this pre-amp. BAT pre's are phenominal, IMO. Someone should buy this.

PFB, why the hell did you not listen to it!? You don't know what you missed. I would at least hook it up to make sure it functions correctly (and you may end up keeping it after hearing it). Referring to your last post and the last comment in it; you cannot get any idea of how a piece of gear sounds without listening to it at all (obviously). Listen to it before you sell it is all I'm saying......... Again, if nothing else, to make sure the pre works properly.

My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Again, I will ask. How do you know you don't want the VK-30 if you have never even heard it!? I mean, whatever.....It's your sonic experience. But, you can't say you don't want a piece of audio equipment if you have never even heard it........That's rediculous, IMO.

Though, I really would take it for grand. But that was not the intent of my original comment
