Opinion on NHT VT-2 and RTi12

Hello Fello Polkies,
I have an NHT 5.1 setup currently, VT-2 fronts, VT-1c center, VS-2 rears, and JAMO 10" sub I got on the cheap. Rebuilding a surround and I tend to listen to bass heavy music and action movies... I figured the RTi12's would probably be better than my VT-2's; though, I honestly do like my VT-2's. I've owned the RTi10's and they sounded pretty impressive but I always felt they lacked mids... I honestly prefer full range towers handling bass in my music, though I don't mind a sub for the lowest of lows. I know my VT-2's have a 10" side firing sub, and know I'll need a good amp for the 12's, I plan on buying amps soon, so regardless, which would do better for my needs? Examples of songs I'd listen to on them (and believe me, I listen to all sorts of genres from jazz to rock to glitch) Wiskers by Feed Me, Do or Die by Flux Pavilion feat. Childish Gambino, Joker by The Vision ft. Jesse Ware , Summit by Skrillex, Drive it Like You Stole it by Glitchmob, Jack Johnson, Incubus, most late 90's early 2000's modern rock. Don't get me wrong, I like clear highs, and love strong mids, but strong bass from two towers IS pretty fun for me :) The RTi12's show only down to 30hz, the VT-2's down to 25hz; though, the strength of bass at these frequencies is just as important :P

  • Not as many people seem to be on here as there used to be. Was it the forum overhaul? I'm going ahead and nabbing the Cherrywood RTi12's for dirt cheap! :D
