Review of LSiM 704C

I recently upgraded from a CS10 to the above. I bought the CS10 thinking it would be a decent sonic match for the modded RTA 12C's I use for the front L-R mains, and it has been.
When Polk did their friends and family sale I couldn't resist the temptation to upgrade. I thought about one of the other lower tier CC's, and even briefly thought about the 706C, but the HT is in a smallish room and it seemed like overkill.
Now, I've read alot about timber matching, and that was something I thought about with this new purchase. I decided to throw caution to the winds and give it a try.
I've only had it connected for a few days and the improved clarity I was hoping for is there. The other thing I've noticed is if I don't turn on the PA for the front mains, the LSiM throws sound out into the room in an almost SDA fashion. With the mains powered up the system sounds markedly better, dialog is easier to hear.
Really liking this unit - will post more impressions when I've spent more time with it. So far timber matching is a non-issue.

Thanks for posting. I felt the same way when I upgraded to the LSiM706c. The vocals are very natural sounding and I hear so much detail in movie tracks that wasn't being played back by other center speakers (CS400, CS1000P and the SRT center). I have not had a single moment where I thought there was an issue with timbre matching. It integrates seamlessly with the 2.3TL's. Looking forward to reading more of your impressions.____________________________________________________________

Same here with my 703s and CSIA6 center and FXI A6s.
I am not sure if i should credit Audyssey XT32 for the seamless intregration between all the speakers especially the front 3.
Maybe i will find out what i am was miSsing when i go all LSIMs especially the center (706c).
For now all is well with nothing lacking with both music and HT.AMP/Pre Pro: Outlaw 7000x, Marantz AV7703

I think you will notice a big difference when you change out the CSIA6 for a LSiM center. The sonic engine clearly outperforms the RT series tweeter in my opinion. I still use RT series surrounds and am not motivated to swap them out like I was on the center simply because they do not play a big part in overall mix like the center speaker does.____________________________________________________________

Thanks for the review. I'm kicking myself for not getting the 704 when I got the 703's. I was only going to setup a 2 channel system with the 703's but they work so well in my main system I'll probably be replacing my RTiA7's and CSiA6 speakers.Anaheim Hills CA,

Anyway, I have already thought of getting the 706 and sitting the 703's on top of the RT3000 bass cabinets. Plugging the ports and adding a high-pass filter to block the low end. Will have a modern day vers. 2.0 Polk Reference Theater setup. I wanted to this time around but not in the cards right now.
