Lsim 703 vs 705

If you desire to fill below 40hz in the future, you can always integrate a quality subwoofer into your setup.

thanks for all input. I got my hands on some 703 to try and I was playing with them and a CD that has test frequencies and measured the SPL with a meter. The 703's played all the way down to 40hz with no drop in (db) volume. Past 40 the drop was huge (more than 10db).
They would be 100% music, and there is not a lot of music below 40 that I listen to.
So I don't know how much of an improvement a 705 would be at twice the cost, probably not twice as much.
I've got some monitors with a -3dB of 38Hz, while the big speakers have a -3dB of 12Hz. I not only hear the difference, I feel it.Political Correctness'.........defined

I never called myself anything of the sort and in no way would I call myself a bass head. However, I too would like to feel the weight of the low end and midbass but I want it to be utterly clean. Still on the quest to have it all someday. BIG speakers and or modest speakers with subs are in my future!

That in a nutshell is my quest.
Even in low volumes i want that quality to be maintained.
I suspect it will take every piece in the chain to get there with the speakers being at the help.AMP/Pre Pro: Outlaw 7000x, Marantz AV7703

Well...got them delivered and hauled upstairs. Need to haul LSi25s to the basement and I can start unboxing.

I never incorporated a "Sub" to my HT, but always think about my LSi25's "subs" in front and a big SVS or Velodyne behind my HT seating
FYI-the 705's are my fav's in the Polk family. I've heard all 3 LSiM's mixed and matched in different rooms and different gear and IMHO they are most well rounded of the 3....enjoy and Happy Holidays to you and all fellow Polkies

Got the LSi25s to the basement and the LSiM705s out of the box. Then I had to go to work. Did fire up a few DSOTM tracks and I liked the differences I heard...but they sound like they need to play a while to really open up. Maybe I'll get some time between Christmas and new year's. I'm excited.

I upgraded my lsi15 to lsim705 and the difference was startling IMHO. They will open up, trust me. Congrats.

Plainolefave, I am considering the same... Upgrading my Lsi15s to LSiM 705s. Could you elaborate on the differences, especially as far as music listening is concerned? Thanks!__________________________________
