Black Friday was good to me

I picked up an new AVR Yamaha RX-A2040 yesterday.
What a nice AVR hooked it up last evening pretty simple, sounds good out of the box.

I've been a HK fan for quite a few years and decided to go with a Yamaha after much reading and a couple of demo. HK 3600 was showing it age and the Yamaha has a ton more features so many that it's going to take a while to learn how every works but so far so good.

And @ $1200 good Friday sale said what the heck and when for it.

Cheers
Roger

Congrats on your new receiver. That model Yamaha sure is sweet. Enjoy it while your breaking it in

  • Congrats!! I absolutely love my Yamaha AVR, and I am sure that 2040 is much better than mine.
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

Programming the Harmony One for me was easy till I realized I was missing out on the custom screens.

After I spent a BUTT ton of time getting them setup I realized that's where the REAL value is.

Love tweaking it now thought its a pain.

Well I have to say what an beautiful piece of engineering this AVR is just WOW.

Still learning how every thing works, It sounds just fantastic works flawlessly the pleasure I get from listening to music from this avr is unbelievable the other night I was leaning back listening to some Diana Krall and it was like I was in an Concert Hall.

It's hard to believe that changing avr's would make such an dramatic difference and not just two channel listening.Movie scores just rock and way more dynamic.

And this is using the avr's own dac's , I love my Dac Magic but I think at this point I may not need it any more as the avr sounds incredible.

My old HK 3600 was good but not in the same league as this Yamaha.

    Cheers

Enjoy. Those newer "Aventage" Yammies have been a SALVATION for Yamaha AVRs. A real improvement and step up from previous so-so Yamahas.

Put Yamaha back in the game.
