Hi everyone,
I have two polk dx104's. One of them started making a snapping noise, mainly on tight bass notes. It continued to get worse. The subs are out of warranty, so I started to investigating what the problem was. At first I took off the dustcap and didn't notice anything, but then I noticed the the voice coil former (? what the voice coil is wrapped around) is splitting. Is there any way that I can repair this? Or anywhere I can have this fixed. The other sub is also starting to make a similar noise.
Thanks,
James
