Marantz

Just bought a Marantz SR5008 from Acces4less, upgrading from HK254. Will I be happy with my choice? lol

I sure think you well :) especially when you hook up you Adcom to it. the will give you fronts the power they like. If I need a AVR that is the one I would get.

I've had just about every major brand of AVR and I prefer the sound of my SR5008 the best. My search for an AVR is over. You will love it. Or you are dead inside.

  • Got her setup , looks and sounds good so far....
  • Is the 5008 the "best pick" in the ~$500 range for RTiA5 and CSiA4?
Or a used Pioneer Elite SC-27 (usaudiomart) for $500 w/o shipping is WAY better?

Yamaha TSR-700 (equivalent to RX V6A)
    No surround...yet

Your looking at 2 diff EQ calibrations as well (MCACC = Pioneer, Audyseey XT = Marantz), each has its plus and minuses with regards to implementation.

    Agreed..

Given the age of the SC-27 (its at least 3 years old if not older), I would favor the 5008 (which IIRC is last years model) personally..

The A5's dont need tons of power so the Marantz should do fine with them. And your getting a new(ish) model with a 1 year manufacture warranty (if your using accessories4less) which to me is worth the money.
