Lol it's expensive to upgrade lol.

I haven't felt the need to myself but if you've got that code then saving half would make it more palatable.

Yeah they are making it very tempting. I would have to put a few things off to the side for a while.

I see you have both. Have you tried the 703's in your HT. Mine would have to pull double duty, HT and 2 channel.

You can't pass it up for 50% off. I just pulled the trigger on a pair of 703's and I'll probably have VR3 do his magic on them.

I casually brought up the 50% off to my wife and how the 703's would be such a deal; She gave me a quite a look.

I'll give you a hint: it was not filled with love and approval...

If your current speakers are still working perfectly then NO, you don't NEED to upgrade!

No complaints with my current speakers which is what's making this decision so hard.

Since it's your money and not mine, I'd say yes, definitely a necessity!
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

I'll do you one better than that, even if your current speakers don't work you still don't NEED to upgrade? This whole damn hobby is unnecessary, nothing discussed on this website is ever NEEDED.

None of us can make the decision for you, what you really need to hear is if the LSiM is worth upgrading to, and the simple answer to that question is 'yes'. The original LSi line were good speakers, but IMO the newer LSiM are on another plane of existence when it comes to both looks and sound.

I also took advantage of the 50% off to grab the 703's...Moved my LSi7's to my home theater setup, which ended up costing me more $$ in order to complete the 5.1 with matching LSi's... So this upgrade cost me a ton. Oh well...All for the love of music!

I am with AsSiMiLaTeD on this one. The LSiM's are quite an improvement over the Lsi's. In my humble opinion, though, it is not worth upgrading from LSi15's to LSiM707s or even LSiM705s. 90% of the improvement falls into treble/midrange category, so the 703s will give you the most bang for the buck, provided you have a capable sub or two. Granted, the 705s and 707s look terrific, but I am not sure from an upgrade perspective it is easy to justify the price (double).

I went from LSi-9s (with good subs) to LSiM-703s, then to LSiM-705s. But in all honesty the 705s were purchased purely for their looks.

I really wish the 703's were wall mountable. For those of us with small kido's that could push them over that would make life much simplier.

Personally I'm the crazy one as the LSiM's just dont do it for me compared to the LSi's.

Maybe I just need to hear them again but after having them in my setup for a month and hearing them next to LSi 9's and modded 9's they just didnt do anything special for me.

That said not every speaker is for every person, so to each his own.

Yeah I have a couple SVS 20-39s that are working just fine. Although I was thinking of upgrading them until this came along.
