Defrosting frozen chicken

I forgot to take the chicken out of the freezer yesterday, so I need to accelerate the defrosting for dinner tonight. Fortunately, the Cambridge-Audio amps in the HT/surround system get hot, so they can help with the defrosting.

Not sure if we're all joking or not, but please don't eat that chicken!

Frozen food should be defrosted in the fridge or if you need it quicker...under cold running water. Technically, the defrost mode on you're microwave is 'safe' but I don't like to do that.

Reason being, if you thaw something by leaving it at room temp (or by putting it on your amp) the outside of the chicken will thaw quicker putting it in the 'danger zone', meaning that it is most susceptible to bacteria, while the middle is still frozen.

I could go on, but I won't....and If you already ate it....maybe wash it down with some bourbon to kill the bacteria :)

Correct me if I'm wrong Fox, but don't you live in a state that grows more than half of all the fresh produce for the whole country ?......and you eating frozen chicken ?

For me....that would be a sign to start downsizing the gear. lol

No. I don't eat frozen chicken. I cook it, and then eat it. I am starting to suspect the vendors inject water into the chicken b r e a s t s to increase the weight so the price goes up. Then when it freezes it is freaking solid, like granite. Even with water helping yesterday, it was still pretty solid when cooked, but now is ready for dinner tonight and Wednesday.

Polk sucks. This site is a reflection of moronic management. There is something sick and disturbing about a company culture that censors chicken b r e a s t s.

I was a bit perturbed this morning regarding the unwarranted censorship.

  • Nah.

Those amps just don't get hot enough. You need some of those 2K McIntosh Monoblocks. Damn room heaters.
