Rogue Audio Magnum 66 Tube Pre

Awesome sound and condition. I can wax poetic about it but I'm sure I don't really need to. This is the remote control version so there is no phono stage. Will try to post pics but I can email or text some to you. Original box, remote, etc.

$750 plus shipping. PayPal gift or money order is fine

I kindly asked for someone to hold me back...not make me jump! Heck it took me half the year to pay off last x-mas as everyone got electronics. Maybe we go cheap this year and I treat myself this year? Hummmmm???

The Rogue 66 was my first introduction into tubes, I've been hooked ever since. Roll in some vintage glass and she'll sing sweet music.

Dust is free of charge. lol The maid has the month off. Actually I was surprised how good those pics came out. The unit is as clear as any you'll ever see that isn't straight from the box.

Bump. Will consider trades for another less expensive tube pre or 5 channel amp or any combination of both.

What's it going to take? I'm open to many different things to trade. Still prefer the 5 ch amp.

I owe #daboyz an apology. I bought his Rogue pre, received it promptly, and have yet to write a word. I've been transferring files to a new computer and moving music library to a new usb 3 drive, have hit several snags, and it's been absolute hell getting things set up. Just up for air today.

I slotted the Rogue in the living room rig very late in the evening that I received it (Thursday I think?), listened 30 seconds. Sucked as expected but I couldn't help myself. Turned down. Came back 30-45 minutes later and was immediately impressed with the sound. All I could do was stream 320 Spotify and Linn jazz on the Squeezebox since I was moving music files, but I really liked what I was hearing. And it was KILLING me not being able to get any decent quality music to it all this time.

So today I finally got everything set up and I'm really digging it. Very good synergy with the other stuff: Pass Aleph 30 and Revel Performa M22 books in small (12x15ish) living room and MIT S3's. Noticeable improvement over the Dared it replaced. Excellent detail & imaging with the Mullards. Haven't tried the Clear Tops which I disliked in the Belles 20a. To my old man ears it's neutral. Certainly not bass shy by any means. Wonderfully controlled slam. But I don't see it as overly warm with the Revels as #aboroth00 apparently did. Very smooth on top, and crystal clear. Perfect for my little vinyl rip demo rig. I couldn't be happier.

Many thanks #daboyz for the great deals (I also got his B&K), diligent packing, and fast shipping.

I see you nabbed my old preamp and speakers ;). Good to hear you're enjoying the setup. I used a Pass Aleph J instead of the 30 you're using and it sounded pretty darn good.

Excellent! always nice when things work out. Craig was great to deal with and I'm glad it went to a good home. I am still amazed that it took so long to sell because this is a really nice pre. Enjoy! :)

I'll take your dregs anytime, Will. hehe. Funny, I had forgotten the Revels were yours. Never made the connection until your post. Great minds yada yada.

Yeah after listening to it, I have to wonder as well. Still really digging it. I also like the very accurate volume control through the remote. May have to put up blinds so the neighbors don't see me obsessing in the front rooms, hehe. Will try Telefunkens, Sylvania black plates, Clear Tops, and some different Mullards in the next few days to see how they might match up and to better understand the sensitivity to noise; but right now, I'm very happy with the cv4003s.

    Thanks again #daboyz!

the cv4003's are great tubes! Well worth the money! Smoothest 12au7 i tried in that preamp. I recently picked up the M22's predecessor, the M20's and it isn't as good as the M22. The M22's were rated Stereophile Class A for a reason ;).
