Help with Upgrades

Hello all,

I’m thinking of upgrading my system in phases. Here is my current setup and upgrades I have in mind:

FROM Polk Monitor 50 Left/Front TO Polk RTiA5
FROM Polk CS1 Center TO Polk CsiA6
FROM Sony HTIB surround speakers TO F/XiA4
FROM Sony HTIB 8”subwoofer TO SVS PB-1000
FROM Onkyo 606 Receiver TO Onkyo 636

Other Info…
Display: Samsung LN52B750 (Will most likely be last upgrade)
Components: Xbox One, Verizon HD STB
Room: 15’x15’ open to kitchen with vaulted ceilings
Main use: Movies and gaming. Very little music

Questions:1. The order that I have in mind is: receiver, subwoofer, center, L/F, surround. Does that make sense?
2. Originally I was considering the RTiA7 for L/F. However I was reading that since I’ll have a subwoofer the RTiA5 will be enough. Do you agree?
3. Will I hear a difference between the Monitor 50 vs the RTiA5? What about between the CS1 vs CsiA6?
4. Is the PB-1000 a good match for this system?
5. Will the Onkyo 636 be a good receiver for this configuration? Will it provide enough power?

Let me know what you think about my plan and feel free to make any recommendations. Thank you in advance for helping a newbie like me.

Welcome to club Polk Darth, I have never heard the speakers you currently have so I cant say the new ones would be better but if you did upgrade them to what you listed you would have almost the same setup i have except I have the A7's.

the a5's & A7's like a little power to sound their best so a AVR with preouts so you can add amp later would be wise, that is what I did (add a used adcom 200wpc x3)

I ran mine for a few years on a denon that was only 90wpc but I didn't crank it cause I would probably have hurt them. now with the better power the sound a lot better.
