Is this a good deal for SDA 1's?

No affiliation, but these are very close to me and I miss my 2A's. Should I run?

  • I don't think so. If they were 1Cs it would be a good deal.

Those look to be in pretty good condition. Id say yes-in that condition. Especially if they dont come available often in your area. Jump on it & try to offer less in person

You're not going to like the SDA tweeter nor the SL1000's. Pass.

Jesse, can't the tweets be replaced with RDO-194's?

Can't hurt to go give them a look and a listen since they are very close to you. It seems that most Forum members around here that have this model of the SDAs do like them once they disconnect the SDA tweeters. Although, I think, the RD-0194 is a direct replacement for the SL-1000 tweeter, I remember mention that the cabinets need a little modification to seat the 194s properly in the 1000's place. Hopefully, someone who's done this will chime in.

Personally, I think they could be had for a little better of a price since they are not of the most desired SDA models. That's where you gotta take into account their condition, how much you want them and how often they come up in your area, etc.

Original 1s. Note the nostril ports.

There's Polk documentation on this site that shows how to upgrade this speaker to SDA1A specs.

At $250, not a bad deal. Not a stormin' steal, either. A person could spend ten times that on new speakers and still wind up with Chinese-made crap.
