One of my favorite venues is Red Rocks up in CO. I have yet to hear speakers at any price that can reproduce that sound.

We've got a couple smaller venues here in Dallas like the Verizon Theater, but even most of those suck. The House of Blues here is pretty decent, and of course we have the Meyerson which is fantastic, but again I have yet to find a speaker at any price that can reproduce the sound of a full symphony in that venue.

Red Rocks is suppose to be scary good, one of these days I'll have to make that trip. Somethings in life you simply have to experience for yourself, if not only once.

The best gear to replicate what I've heard in most venues would be Vegas driven by one of those pro amps :-)

    LOL

  • I am using both Maggies (the 2.7s) and the Polks (the 705s) in the same setup, parallel configuration. Both pairs are so different but at the same time do not step on each other's toes that parallel configuration was a simple choice. The Maggies make soundstage lifelike, enormous while the Polks bring their excellent midrange to the table. Both pairs need a couple of very capable subs, they lack in the lower end.
