New SDA-SRS 1.2tl Owner

Not sure if anyone here saw the listing but I picked up the SDA-SRS 1.2tl in Prescott Valley AZ. These are in really good shape as far as the cabinets go, 3 of the tweeters were blown but had some spares laying around so I replaced those.

One of the things I didn't really notice till I picked them up was the crossover plate, the black anodize coating is not black anymore. Is there anything I could do to make them black again without losing the text?

I have looked on the site and saw some beautiful replacements people have made up and was wondering if any one has some of these available if that is my only option?

Yes these were on a old post - there were Black with Gold letter, Red with Gold Letters and even Gold with black letters.

I also have the 2.3tl's and I like the sound of these much better plus they look awesome, driving them with my Carver TFM-45 I just recapped and Aligned and they are singing pretty.
Thanks in advance in you have any info, will post some pictures tomorrow, I am including a picture of the crossover plate for you - maybe someone could explain why this happens :-)ai27243bkwqz.jpg

    No.

    I prefer the opposite.

BTW, that set up is not doing you any favors. The right speaker is too close to the side wall, the sofa is too close to the front of the right speaker and that stereo cabinet is boxing in the right speaker. If you had the 2.3TL's set up the same way I can understand why you think the 1.2TL's sound better as their height would help unbox the right side.

Thanks F1nut :) maybe I could try the Stereo Cabinet on the other side and move my computer to the right side. I could possibly move the couch out a little further or just put it in the middle of the room and put a chair against the wall. It's just me so I can arrange things anyway I like.

This is going to be a crazy question but is there any reason why someone would remove the R/L designation stickers on the back that has the serial #'s. Those things don't look like they just fall off - meaning you would have to remove them on purpose. I had to remove one of the drivers from each cabinet to make sure I had the right and the left set up correctly?

These did come with the non-common ground amplifier interconnect cable so that is nice if I wanted to bi-amp them.

Did they remove the entire sticker or just the serial number sticker, which is on the big sticker?

Just read your post again and there are no stickers what so ever on the back, no serial # sticker or the other sticker.

In that case I'd say those speakers were hot items at some point in their lives.

MMMmmmm could be but you would think that these weight to much to just throw them in the back of something?? That originally didn't cross my mind because I would have never even thought that as a possibility. Besides missing the label they are in great shape :)

When cleaning out a house it's always a good idea to use a 28' truck with a lift gate.
