A song comes on and somebody shouts "What the hell are we listening to?!?!" Then the speaker goes dead and then a new station comes on.

This thing is a hit! Got an entire family totally jazzed, neighbors are asking questions and one person is bummed cause they have a Windows phone that isn't supported.

that's pretty spendy for 2" speakers. But it is exactly what I'm looking for. Is it worth the cash? I currently have a Monster bluetooth little speaker that pretty much blows.

    Lepai Amp $20+
A.Jones Pioneer SP BS22lrs (on sale) $89.99--and less as time passes!
    LTech Bluetooth adapter $40

Total: $149.99...More bass, better imaging and sound! And bulkier speakers!

Get with the program Polk. Make something GREAT at this price point and it WILL sell like HOTCAKES.

Make something closer to $100 and you'll corner the market. Let's not just appeal to the "yuppie" market? OK?

More "value" products! Translation: less than $199 for the general public. Let's not ride the Beats train to the tune of hundreds of dollars with INFLATED profits. Less profit, more value, but some profit, of course! Back to the roots, boys and girls! And then as people taste that "good" audio, they'll be more willing to climb the audio ladder and spend more and buy more from Polk. What kind of marketing dudes do you guys have, because they don't seem too swift to me?

I'm somewhat familiar with Chinese manufacturing so I "know" how "cheaply" something can be made and still leave a healthy profit!

Or is it just a question of DEI being way too concerned about Market shares/profits, etc. And running EVERYTHING on those SHORT-SIGHTED models. I've seen more than ONE company F itself up doing that!

There is a "collective" experience and knowledge of all things audio on this forum whose years DWARF the Polk marketing TEAM and laughs at Top down decisions from out of touch DEI CEOs! The Gov't is not the only one out of touch with its people. Corporations, as GIANT bureaucracies suffer from ALL THE SAME DISEASES. Politics and Economics are strange bedfellows that contract the same viruses and bacteria! IMO, they are the two giants that are slowly eroding the public good. Small, competitive enterprises are where it's at, not continual amalgamation to the point where there is NO competition whatsoever. LOCAL does not only apply to Gov't my conservative friends, it is even MORE important for business and the market!

It's worth every penny and sounds WAY better than it has any right to. That's a pre-production, engineering sample too.

Dude, that speaker is wireless, has a brick of a lithium-ion battery in it too and will play at levels that will make your neighbors tell you to turn that **** off in no short order and do it for 10 hours too. It'll do it 100 feet away from your house too. I walked from my house to my neighbor's house last night and my Pandora on my cellphone attached to my home network was playing in his kitchen.

The dynamic output is beyond impressive. The stereo imaging ('cause it actually is stereo) is out of this world, especially for off-axis response.

How about next time you show up at the Polkfest and get your ears on before you go on a wet-diaper rant about something you know nothing about?

Nothing wrong with a good old-fashioned rant. It is true, I haven't heard this, but it's size and the speakers inside do not inspire confidence.

Plus, I march to the beat of a cheaper drummer! lol

And you know what? None of my "superiors" have EVER taken any of my cheaper offerings or ideas seriously-not even those that reduce tuition for your kids by 15-20 percent or more and, maybe even improve the quality of their education! Why? I think that's obvious. I guess I'd either make a **** CEO or a visionary one, but we'll never know. And that might NOT be for the "best". Let me just say that some, many, "administrators" are TERRIFIED of some of us and leave it at that? Don't "ever" think that only Gov'ts are afraid of being asked HOW they spend their money and why. This problem is rampant!

Now to get those panties back on the right way?

He always gets like that when the wife goes out of town. See...if you would have came to Chicago with the wife, I would have bought you dinner and you'd be a happier camper.

I do have a question about the Omni though. Since this is a streaming device, are you using up your bandwidth....from your phone or local carrier ?

It's Play-Fi protocol over WiFi. There's not a lot of technical info out there. Not sure if you can play past your router's firewall, not sure why one would want to do that though.

Decent portable speakers have their market. Many companies are developing it. It's a nice solution for outdoor music.

    It's not a streaming device.

You need a WiFi network for it to work.

You don't connect to it through your cellular provider.

You connect to it through a wireless router.

You use the wireless connection in place of patch cables.

The only way you will stream data is if you have a Roku box or something similar as a "media server" on your wireless network as a source or you are using your Pandora or similar service through the Internet connection on your wireless router. You cannot send directly from your source to your PlayFi device as there is nothing to handle the TCP/IP addressing and communication.

Even the deaf guy thought it sounded pretty good for its size, and amount of radiating surface.
