OK, not audio related. Well maybe on the front end, but I know there are a few drummers here. Been wanting one of these for years and actually bought one a long time ago. However, it turned out to be somewhat of a fake, a cheap knock off with a steel shell.
This one is the real deal COB (chrome over brass). It was really dirty when it arrived so the pics show it apart and after cleaning.

Received replacement snares (Puresound), the final part needed to reassemble, which I hope to do this weekend.
Last pic is of a couple of Ludwigs, a hammered bronze Supraphonic and a Black Galaxy.

Nice. Always a good sounding drum. I stumbled into the 300th Wood WMP (very rare) 6.5 x 14 about 5 years ago. Sent her to Aussie for about 6K!! Helped to finance my One Ply SteamBent TopHat kit!!
You did a great job cleaning this one up! I'll bet it cracks!!"if it's not fun, it's not worth it & remember folks, "It's All About The Music"!!

Yeah, it did clean up well. I got it for a song cause it was dirty with beat up heads.
It doesn't really have the sound (yet) I bought it for, that brass drum crack. Still need to play around with the tuning. Right now the sound of the snares kind of over power the sound of the shell, so I'm thinking crank the heads, top and bottom, a little.
For background I put an Evans G1 on top and an Evan 300 snare side, with a new set of DynaSonic Puresound wires on the snare bridge (not the ones pictured)
I do love the quality (always been a Rogers fan), and the way the snares just barely kiss the bottom head with no extraneous buzz.
I've been playing primarly a Noble & Cooley Maple steam bent shell, so I knew this would be different. Would love to see/hear/play a full kit of steam bent shells."Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer -
