Help picking out equipment for a home audio newbie?
Hello!
I just the start of my first home sound system (that isn't a prepackaged generic set up). I went with Polk because I loved the brand in stores. I bought 2 Monitor 60 II tower speakers, and a PSW 505 12 inch sub. I am having my house pre-wired for 4 ceiling mount rear speakers (thinking of using RC80i's). I was hoping for suggestions the rears though, and what I should use for the center channel keeping in mind that I cannot spend very much. I am also looking for a good receiver to run it all, and what you all who have more experience would suggest. Thank you all for any help you provide!!

I ended up getting a Sony str da2800es 7.2 channel receiver thanks to a great sale, and a Polk CS1 Series II center channel. Now I just need to figure out what ceiling speakers will work best with this set up for the rear.

If you can return the cs1 and get a cs2 I would highly recommend it. Its a significant improvement for not much money.
I have rc80i's and they will work great for your setup.2 ChannelTurntable - VPI Classic 2/Ortofon 2M BlueAmplification - Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum II, Parks Audio Budgie PhonoSpeakers - GoldenEar Triton 17.2 Home TheaterDenon AVR-X3300W; Rotel RMB-1066; Klipsch RP-280F's, Klipsch RP-450C, Polk FXi3's, Polk RC60i; Dual SVS PB 2000's; BenQ HT2050; Elite Screens 120"Man CaveTurntable - Pro-Ject 2.9 Wood/Grado GoldAmplification - Dared SL2000a, McCormack DNA 0.5 DeluxeCD: Cambridge AudioSpeakers - Wharfedale Linton 85th Anniversary; LSiM 703; SDA 2A -
The biggest problem with a CS2 is space.
You need to make sure that you can fit it where you need it.
