Here is the Onkyo TX-NR717 surround sound receiver. Notice the PREOUTS toward the CENTER of the receiver. You MUST have those or else you cannot output to an external power amp!

A cheaper two channel option is the Onkyo TX-8050 (NOT the 8020) upper center of the receiver.
See L/R pre outs and sub outs in pic below!

Now that that's out of the way, can you use a receiver without preouts to drive those speakers ? Yes, you can, but probably not at the loudness levels you like or you'll toast a tweeter or crossover....or both.
Read up around here, tons of info for you to wrap your head around. Amps, including receivers, don't put out the rated power as soon as you turn it on either. Educate yourself by reading up so you don't make a costly mistake or waste coin.HT SYSTEM-

What's that mean? If it's a slur, than you should be embarrassed.... I'm not a moron, just had a question on the best way to get more power and how I go about using an amp, along with some recommendations... I know a lot about audio and technology, and I can assure you that in my field, I'm at the top of knowledge....

If you're just running from a computer, get a solid 2 channel amp and be done. No need for a receiver if you've got volume control from the computer.
Ok, thanks....

My apologies... Bad day, no offense intended.

Haha, I might get this... Does this have 110 watt for each front L/R per speaker, it is it 110 divided between the two, L and R? -
It provides 110 watts per channel, with two channels being driven. So yes 110 watts for each left and right. Powering additional channels such as the center or surrounds at the same time will greatly reduce the number of watts available per channel, however.Oh, Listen here mister.
