Got this tip from a different forum (and not from any that begin with an "A")

Parasound is coming out with their first integrated amplifier - looks to be a great performer!

    "Halo Integreted is based on P5, in combination with a power stage constructed by John Curl. But the preamp in Halo Integrated holds a few upgrades compared to P5.

    That's the first Parasound amp I've seen without an amperes per channel rating, trying not to read too much into that...

    Still a p5 with dsd and a curl design amp all in one, nice!! Simple one stop solution. Add a laptop and speakers and your all set.

    Turns out it does have home theater bypass and a lot of other features that are surprising at the price point. Only thing that bothers me is the relatively small difference in rated power output to 4 ohms compared to 8 ohms. Probably had to use a smaller than usual power supply for a Halo product to fit everything in the chassis. At 45 amps current the amp section seems to be based on the A23 amp with some modifications.

    Should be a big seller here and overseas.

    Yes, more than enough. I had an A23 with a pair of LSi15s for a while, and it did fine with a pair of RTi12s as well. Sounded great. The A23 is a very nice amp and I'd expect their integrated amp to perform about the same.

    Wife will KILL me if I were to have this show up at home.

    Even if I sell my current pre and amp, I'm not even half way to the Integrated. Man, my kids need to get out of daycare...

    I really miss the those days when the kids were toddles. However, the cost of daycare was another thing....I could not wait for them to start school.

    Aside from the obvious power difference, what would be the sonic difference between this and the Marantz PM8005 integrated? One warmer than the other, more detailed, etc, and is it worth the extra $1400 over the Marantz.
