RC65i In-Wall "Cabinets"?

I'm about to install two RC65i's in my walls as surrounds replacing a pair of Bose 301 II's (yeah, it's about time - the sound mismatch with my RTi100s was pretty dreadful).

Is echo in the wall cavity going to be a concern, or should I install a spanwise 2x4 between the studs to create a cabinet within the wall?

If a cabinet seems like a good idea, the stud spacing on one wall is 16" and on the other is 11", so I'd want to ensure the same volume for each, right? Can anyone suggest a volume size? The 6½ driver should also be centered in the volume space as well, right?

I want to get this right before I start cutting into the walls - please reply to this post or email me at gordonmp@hotmail.com.

Thanks in advance - anybody looking for a pair of 301 II's?

For what it's worth, my system consists of:
Receiver: Denon AVR-3802
Fronts: Polk RTi100
TV as Center: Hitachi 57XWX20B (the match surprised me too)
Surrounds: Polk RC65i
Sub: Polk PSW303
---Home Theater Audio Gear---
Receiver: Denon AVR-3802
DVD: Denon DVD-900 w/ Faroudja
CD: Denon DCM-370
Fronts: Polk RTi100
HDTV as Center: Hitachi 57XWX20B
Surrounds: Polk RC65i
Sub: Polk PSW303

No cabinet, the design of the speaker is infinate baffle. If anything, a little wadding / insulation behind the speaker to help null the back wave - that's it.
