RC65i In-Wall "Cabinets"?

I'm about to install two RC65i's in my walls as surrounds replacing a pair of Bose 301 II's (yeah, it's about time - the sound mismatch with my RTi100s was pretty dreadful).

Is echo in the wall cavity going to be a concern, or should I install a spanwise 2x4 between the studs to create a cabinet within the wall?

If a cabinet seems like a good idea, the stud spacing on one wall is 16" and on the other is 11", so I'd want to ensure the same volume for each, right? Can anyone suggest a volume size? The 6½ driver should also be centered in the volume space as well, right?

    No cabinet, the design of the speaker is infinate baffle. If anything, a little wadding / insulation behind the speaker to help null the back wave - that's it.
