Got a cool million sitting around?

http://app.audiogon.com/listings/lps-worlds-first-stereo-record-worlds-1st-stereo-record-worlds-first-stereo-record-2014-10-08-music-22043-pimmit-va

Seems a bit odd that the guy lists his location in Falls Church, VA, but wants to meet the buyer in Seattle, WA.

Also odd that he offers shipping options. Who would be stupid enough to mail,or otherwise ship a million dollar purchase?

He never states what it is a recording of. I wonder if it could be "The Brave Bulls", the live recording from the Plaza de Toros in Mexico (of their house band).

The USPS is quite reliable and safe if shipped via registered mail. There's also federal laws protecting handling of the mail that other couriers don't have. I have read that jewelers use it for diamonds and gold all the time. However, I think the maximum insurance is $25K.

The bigger issue is ensuring trusted payment. For that money, an escrow service is a must.

This sounds like one of those Craigslist adds where someone ends up getting their head cut off.....well, that only happened twice on Craigslist.
You would think someone on Audiogon would kybashe this add.

I offered him the asking price but the deal fell through when he refused to come down on the shipping costs. No way I'm letting him take advantage of me!
