Squeezebox Touch/Logitech Media Server

Options
I have had this config for a while and didn't invest much time in discovering it but put a few minutes into it today as I was doing windows updates (ok more like an hour)....

As anyone who has used the combination of the 2 has discovered it's an ok media server/gui and lets you play your digital content on your system adequately.

All am all about simple and after a day of doing customer system reviews and requirements documents I don't want to (can't) learn to many things during my relaxation time.

I installed a chrome extension called "Mini Squeezebox Control" and it helps me navigate the Squeezebox Touch nicely with albeit a tad on the spartan side.

Anybody with a Touch/LM Server running and how do you control it?

i use the squeeze touch app. I think it is more effective an app on my iphone than it is on my Ipad sadly. Considering it is not a supported device any more by Logitech I have thought about switching it out off and on. Blue sound from the makers of NAD and PSB has caught my attention but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

iPeng is still supported by it's author, I use it constantly. One of the best things about iPeng is that you can pay an extra $5, and use it as a player. So basically your iPhone becomes a Squeezebox, and can play anything your Squeezebox can. Then you can open a port on your router and forward it to your LM Server, and then you can use your phone as a streaming Squeezebox player outside of your house. I then play the phone through the aux input in my car, and I have a streaming Squeezebox on wheels!
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Dumb question but how does it handle high rez files (24/192, etc) when playing through your phone? And I am assuming the streaming data counts against your plan, so how much data does your cell plan have?

Hi-Res files get down-sampled to 16/44. If you go to 'More Info' in Squeeze Commander (or whatever app you're using in Android), it'll show something like 'Converted to 705kbps FLAC..'.
