rtia3 as center speaker

I just put together a new ht package as follows

Fronts rtia3
Center csia6
Rears rtia1

It sounds great but my question is if I used an rtai3 as a center instead of the a6 would I loose any sound quality ? The reason I am asking is I spent $450 on the center and I found a very good deal on a used set of rtai3's and I would return the a6 and buy the a3's if the sound would be comparable thanks

    I'd say you paid way to much for that center channel take it back and get it here the A3 would work but the A6 would be my choice. Welcome to the Forum.

    It was $399 plus tax at future shop and with taxes it was 450.
    I am actually trying to do another deal right now for another set of rtia3 and a6 for $400 together so then I will return the other a6 and sell the rtia1's and use the second set of a3's as surrounds , thanks for the reply

    The deal didn't go through as planned I picked up the rtia3's but the center was the csi4 not the a6 so I passed on it as I had the cai3 and wasn't really impressed with it at least compared to the a6, so now have the rtia3 as fronts and backs I biamped the fronts tonight not sure how much difference it makes so will still look for another a6 for less then the 450 I paid for the one from future shop I did find a cherry a6 for 300 but really looking for one in black

    I think a got a great deal today I had bought a csia6 and an open box rti a3 for $800 I went into future shop today and the had a pair of rtia5's a csia6 and rtia1's for $999 about $700 off list price so I picked them up and returned the rtia3 I was able to keep the a6 they just scanned it as a return even though I didn't bring it back and as I already had another set of a3's at home I was good to go and I can sell the rtia1 as as I don't need them

    So my system is set for now as follows

    Fronts rtia5's bi-amped
    Center csia6
    Backs rtia3's
    Sub psw125

    I am really enjoying the sound from this setup and very happy with the price I paid approx $1100 plus I can sell the BNIB rtia1's to make it even cheaper
