Cheap Trick.....

Saw them at the House of Blues last night. They really rocked the house. My ears are still ringing. Might have been a little too close! A band named Watershed from Ohio IIRC opened up for them. I was presently surprised. All in all the GF and I have a great time. We nab'd about half a dozen picks too!

They played here in Wisconsin a couple years ago. My buddy had a meet n greet and took a couple LP's to get signed. He said he was worried they would be annoyed, but they seemed fairly pumped to see some LP's.

They are a great bunch of guys they hail from Rockford Illinois right up the road from us, they were touring a few army bases while I was stationed in Germany we were right up front Robin reached down and shook hands and high fived a couple of us the wife shook his hand, she's had it for him ever since. They interacted with the crowd a lot that night they were putting on a few free shows for the troops while they were touring in Europe.

Saw them way back in the day. Awesome group. Lucky you. They were up here in Maine recently but i had to work the next day. Maybe next time. Its great to see groups from the 60-80's still together. Listening to the Eagles right now

How was the "sound" system? From what I have heard (through many people down), they like to really turn up the high end to the point that it fatigues. Would you agree or disagree?

Not sure I understand. But I will say it was a typical "ROCK" concert to me. My ears were ringing the next day. I personally thought the mix was wrong. The vocals seemed too low compared to the bass and guitar. It seems as thought the whole band was mixed well but the vocals were tuned down. Just my observation. The opening band was great. Watershed. Apparently they are big Cheap Trick fans. Over all It was a great show and very enjoyable.

Saw them in a little "disco" before they hit it big, I remember an interview later where Bun E. was quoted as saying: "Must reap teen buck."

I saw them way long ago and they just came here a few weeks ago. always like they crazy sound & almost have everything on Vinyl, 1st heard them on a radio show interview and they would play a few songs and talk to the band...So I went out and bough there 1st LP, was good but got a lot better with the 2nd LP.

Always liked Rick Neilsons guitar style....reminds me of Pete Townshend somewhat...not to mention his stage demeanor...that is something too...
