Any experience with the KLF-10's?
They look pretty similar to 5.5's except 5.5's have bass port in the front where these have in the back.
5.5 - 1994 - 1997
KlF - 1997 - 2001 so looks like successor model of 5.5.

You may have guessed... yes they are in my house.
It'll be interesting comparison against JBL SVA-1800's (similar size) and RF3's.
Bad thing is I have RF3 and SVA's in the family room and not enough space to put these there so need to reorganize things to compare.
And these and SVA's are pretty big and heavy to move around. Oh my back!
Here are few cellphone pictures of quick test setup:

My wife loved ours as lots of others do. They will rock. I personally hated them after about 30mins of listening. Had to shut them off. Horns didnt agree with my ears back to the SDA's i went. Those look very nice. We had some a tad bit darker in color & a plant pot stain on top nice speaker wife is still p/o at me LOL..

Hmm...
These KLF-10's don't sound bright if they are not toed in.
I am liking them. They have great mids even without a mid horn.
Sound little forward.
However, SVA1800's sound smoother and more balanced but need quite a lot more power as they are not as efficient as KLF's.
I removed all other speakers from that wall (Polks, black bostons and black klipsch) as shown above and now have only these three speakers there.

JBL SVA1800
KLF-10's are supposed to be slightly taller than the SVA1800's but KLF's are missing those small pegs/feet on the bottom so are slightly shorter instead.
Need to do more listening and if the KLF's don't hurt my head after 30 minutes, they may be keepers.
Boston A400 are so slim compared to KLF's.
I can fit more than two A400's and still KLF will be deeper.

The guy who bought ours still loves them 2 years later & it makes my day he is happy with them. They are a great speaker...

On a different note-those Boston Acoustics are darn huge. I know how big the KLH's are so those gotta be big. Take up some real estate with narrow depth. I have owned smaller BA's & they are a great speaker. Cant imagine how nice those sound..

Yes, A400's are huge but since they are only 7" deep, they don't stick out to the room and take very small space.
Weight wise, SVA1800's are 75lbs, KLF are 65lbs and A400 are around 60lbs .
Since I bought the A400's, I've have had over 130 pairs of speakers come and go but these have survived so far.
I hope to get something that can beat these but so far no go and I'm not paying way too much just to achieve that.Post edited by Mystery on

Never heard those but have owned the CF-3s sold those to my brother so I can still listen to them but they were the best sounding Klipsch speakers I ever heard, I own a pair of Synergy B2s which are darn good bookies. If a pair of CF-3s came my way I would buy them. I know my brother would not sell his back to me.
Enjoy those and curious as to what you think about those KLF-10s once you listen to them but you might want to get them up against the wall with a space of their own to really audition them.Home Theater

I read threads that KLF-10's need around 5 feet in the back to get good bass otherwise they sound boomy or need to block the port. Need to read up more on that.
I don't have room to do that.
Right now they are around 6 inches from the back wall and toed out to tame the forwardness little bit.
Sound good but SVA1800 may win the race here as they sound really good and smooth when given 3 times the power of KLF's.
