Hello,
just assembled new RD0194-1 SL 2000 on my Polk Audio 10 series.
Unlike the previous ones ( old SL 2000 ) there's no " + " symbol on the inner part of the Items.
I just connected them randomly, I think the sound it's ok, but I'd like to know if there's any possibility to have a different phase.
Thank you so much !

The + (positive) terminal should have been red, or had a red dot next to it. Can't recall, it's been a while since I put mine it.

Hello WilliamM2,
thank you for your reply. And what about the color of the cables for ex: white is the positive one?
Thank you again.

on Polk's BLACK is ALWAYS the positive wire
-
Thank you pitdogg2,
so red pin should be connected with black cable.
-
The same thing for L and R channels, correct ?
Thank you once again ! -
Same on both.
Polk can be inconsistent with the wiring color on older speakers. Mine didn't have a black wire to the tweeters, so I just made a note of which color wire was connected to the + terminal before disconnecting the old tweeters. Just in case you remove any other drivers. -
... I wasn't so wise... Is there a method to find a possible mistake?
-
Are you saying there is no black wires to the tweeters? If there is just take the advice above and connect to positive.
You could follow the wires down to the crossover, the PCB is marked (+) (-), but you will need to remove more drivers to see them. -
Hello WilliamM2,
yes there is a black wires. I Just connected them to red pins on the tweeters. Hope that the Polk in the 90's did the right connection down to the crossover. I checked the system also with a Sheffield Test Cd and it seems allright. Hope that the two tweet are in the right phase. -
It is almost always a mixup at the driver, as the crossover connections are molex connectors.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable
