in Vintage Speakers
I was cruising C/L this time in South Jersey and 2 very different brands of speakers came up. One I have heard and the other always intrigued me but never got to hear any of the models. So the 1st was a set of Vandersteen 3a sigs @$450 and the other were Ohm/Walsh 4s also for $450. When I heard the Vandersteens I thought for their price new and what they did were amazing. Not hearing but wanted at least O/W 2XOs for size purposes w/ the omni directional ease of placement interested me. Both ads claimed condition was excellent and the Vandersteens also came w/ the anchor stands. Which would you go for?

    $450 for 3a is great price. Even 2's go for that.

    No experience with the vandies but I sold my Walsh 4's a couple of years ago for double that amount and the new owner was ecstatic.

    I'd probably go for the Walsh as the design is different.

    I'd go for the Walshs. Sounds like he own them and took care of them. The 3as are listed as acceptable not excellent. That seller appears to be flipping the speakers. I'd be concerned about their history.
