Placing surround speakers in front??
Has anyone here ever setup their rear channel surround speakers in the front? I know that doing so won't create that surround effect around you, but will it create a more " spacious" feel? The rears will be placed towards the corners of the front wall slightly recessed behind the front soundstage. Each speaker will be about 3ft away from the fronts. Why do you ask? Well I want to complete my HT setup to a 5.1, but im not able to run any wires to the sides or rear, so tthat's why I chose the front. Thoughts? Suggestions? Opinions?

Do you mean that you don't do movies or not to do movies with that kind of setup? My Setup: Denon AVR X3600h, Polk Signature S50 Fronts w/ S30 Center and S15 Rears, LG UBK90 4K Player, TCL 6-Series 65”4k TV

For movies, why would you want the sound intended to come from behind come from the front? Not good in MHO

I really don't have a choice b/c of my room layout. But, I want to hear all of the aspects of the movie soundtrack. The surrounds are placed far enough to create a "surround effect" to were off screen sounds are really off screen. Its a sacrifice, but I think I can live with it. You never know, maybe audyssey can work some magic ;-)My Setup: Denon AVR X3600h, Polk Signature S50 Fronts w/ S30 Center and S15 Rears, LG UBK90 4K Player, TCL 6-Series 65”4k TV
