FS: 1KVA Dreadnaught AI-1 and Case w/Neutrik Connections

One recent group buy AI-1 + case is available. Lord knows I don't need this many, I only did it to take one for the team . . .

anywho, if Larry hasn't shipped the case, yet . . . $380 to your door

  • Is this the complete 1KVA Dreadnaught AI-1? If so I'm very interested.
If it's basically all the parts, I'm still interested.

There are two options, the first would be a part of the most recent group buy.
you would get the case and the transformer .... and have to assemble it yourself, using the neutrik connections (that you supply)

I was part of another group buy. I have one completely assembled, never used 1KVA transformer (same model # from AL), from about 18 months ago. That would come shipped completely assembled, with Cardus binding posts and ready to be plug n played. This option is slightly more expensive by about $40 I'll have to crunch the numbers to be exact . . .

  • Let me know the numbers, I'll buy one or the other.

ok, well I was way off.

The economical way to go is to have the latest group buy with the Neutrik connection AI-1 shipped from AL (in about 9 weeks) and The Ring Master . . . aka Larry will ship the case next week for $410 total.

or I can ship you a complete 1KVA tranny for $525 Plus shipping (they are heavy, shipping may be $50 or more depending on where you live, I'm in Motown)
this one has Cardas CCGR RCA connections and has been dyna-matted. Also tranny is secured with SS non-magnetic hardware

  • Is either one meant to stand vertically?

Good question . . . it forced me to look at the new case

The binding post case was designed to sit flat. It has 4 feet, just like any other piece of gear. It has been said that a few can hear a diff with it on end/vertical. I think DK has made a comment regarding this

The new cases does not have pre-drilled holes for feet. It appears that it can be positioned either way.

So I guess both can go either way. The tranny is so damn heavy, that if you go vertical, I would brace the tranny with a block of wood (between tranny and case)

  • I may be interested in the one that TNT doesn't take. I know we lost touch when the switch happened Glenn but I still need one of these :)

  • I'd prefer the one that is fully assembled. Can you tell me a little bit about how it would integrate via RCA? I have know clue how these things fit in a system yet.

Also, I didn't know it would be that pricey either. Can I put some money down and reserve it?
