55% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.

There were a couple of questions I just had to randomly pick because I had no idea.

    Drive through liquor store? Sweet.

Wow, angelfire.com. I thought that site went the way of geocities long ago.

EDIT : 22% Dixie. You are a dandy Yankee Doodle. Not surprising. I did enjoy seeing "tonic" as a response to the soda question - I personally don't say "tonic" but all of my elders still call it that, along with calling liquor stores "packies" / package stores. So New England.

Like a crek, I'm fixin' to take the test, I sound like a hick, but because my folks are from the midwest, I use words from there too and I say warsh

When I moved to Mahattan in the 80's, my boss pulled me aside and said I might want to tone down the southern speech a notch. I immediately went into New Yawk "Yo, Tony I wood neaver go ta da south, beaause day sound so fookin' stuupid" with hand gestures, 'natch, that shut his big fat mouth right up.

I found the NE accent to be one of the most obnoxious dialects I've ever heard....like fingernails on a chalkboard nasty. Absolutely abhorrant! Behooving!

    Blasphemy!!!!! How rude
They are all unique in their own little way. The one that drives me nuts is Rhode Island. Unfortunately i moved within 10 miles from the border and cross paths with them more frequently than one would desire. Instead of Mark.....my name turns into Mawk......wth?

A heavy Boston accent (like the one people try to mimic in the movies) can be obnoxious, but I find most normal people have a much more toned down version that isn't as bad. I'm sure it's just the Boston / NY rivalry but I find the heavy Long Island accent to be far more annoying. You want a drink of wooter? Huh?

I honestly have no idea how you could pronounce those differently.

I know people who insist that "Carrie" and "Kerrie" sound the same. THOSE people are nuts.

I can't access from work, but 'round here a baseball inning is over when "der's tree outs"....laundry is done is a "warsher"....a car needs to have it's "earl" changed, and a question is when you "axe" something.

Many times when you axe something it will be like, "it's hot today, haina"? or "yous guys wanna go to the movies tonight, haina or no"? Up until recently my wife called the fridge an icebox and many in her family still need to outen the lights. Interesting, haina or no?

The creek was only made famous by the Dukes and their red bomber.
Stream or Brook is an acceptable answer.

    As for Don and Dawn.....SAME

Don't think I even need to take it. I am right in the center of "you can't get theah from heah" country - had to navigate some of it today (the People's Republic of Cambridge).

That said, I was born south of the Mason-Dixon line and I do like grits - and scrapple (or liver mush, as it's kissin' cousin is known farther south)

I got 41% Dixie. Barely in Yankeedom. Thought for sure the "Mischief Night" would have done me in.

Man, I don't want to be a slack-jawwed yokel. :frown:

Then again, there is a large portion of NJ that extends below the 39th parallel.

33 % Dixie. You are definitely a Yankee? No kidding! Grew up North of Phillie, went to school in NYC and work in Maine. Far enough North for you?

Jstas is in "South" Jersey...got that southern influence there.

People's Republic of Cambridge (nice place to be, actually...more brains per square foot than a lot of places? No?) As for me, I've spent about 2 1/2-3 years in the real PRC in the last 20 (work/study/research).
