You aren't seriously going to waste a HK Citation on a sub?

Well as of this morning i was. The guy who was supposed to build my enclosure for me just copped out and sent my money back after stringing me along for 2 months. I see your point and there are really two ways to think about "waste"

Seeing as I can only listen to one stereo at a time and already have the big parasound, i see no problem using the amp to power a good sub with some decent high current power; As opposed to putting it in another system.

The sub that I was planning on would have been/will be Dual 12" Eclipse Drivers in an isobaric config. Drivers made by TC sounds and are similiar to Stryke drivers but better (3" VC etc.)

And secondly, as solid state electronics dont really lose that much quality over the life span i dont really feel like my amp is going to slowly rot away while I use it to feed my sub.

What else do you think I should use it for?

Agree Cer, if it's not otherwise going to see use, but when a plate amp will do...

In part my reaction was in thinking you had one of the classic old Cit's from the 70's.

I may just use a plate amp eventually, but going passive gives my system more flexibility, I can use the Citation for something else along the road, unlike a plate amp. Looks like my enclosure deal is back on-line so I will try and post an eval. once I get everything hooked up
