wireless router recommendation

Looking for advice for the best wireless router that can give some decent range. Using a dlink dir 825 and the range sucks.

Thanks for any information. My property is less than a 1/4 acre flat.

Do you know which model? If you're renting, it's honestly cheaper to buy if you're going to have service from them for the next couple of years.

I usually buy the latest and greatest Motorola Surfboard modem, and have had good luck with those in the past. I haven't purchased a router in quite a while, but am pleased with my Linksys.

I was blowing thru Linksys routers, every couple of years. I spent some $$$ on a Netgear, has some sort of extended warranty, 7 years, IIRC.
When it comes to routers, ya gotta spend some $$$.
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!
  • the cisco/linksys routers were garbage... the new belkin/ linksys are very good.

  • Just updated mine and was going back and forth between the Asus N66u and the Netgear Nighthawk. Went with the Netgear because of the larger processor. So far works much better then the old dlink I had.

I'm also having problems since we switched over to TW internet. Man they S'u'c'k!

I've heard the Asus RTN66U whatever, the older model is great for less than 139 if you can find it? I've also heard you should NOT spend more than 149 on any router unless you're running the "latest and greatest" of every tech gadget and PC, etc. It's a waste of money over that price point.

The newer Asus 68, according to a tech friend of mine, does not perform as well range wise as the 66.

I've been really happy with my 3TB Time Capsule, it's the latest gen and has been rock solid since the day I bought it.
