I'm building a new system and need some help. Speakers will probably be RTi150's, CS245i, f/x 300i, & the PSW202. I'm looking for a new receiver and need some advice. I would like to move to an amp/pre-amp/tuner setup, but really don't know a great deal about putting those components together. My other option looks to be a normal A/V receiver along with an additional amp for bi-amping. If I were to with the amp/preamp setup, what brands would you all recommend and how do you put them together properly? If I went with the A/V receiver setup, what brands would you recommend? I have a budget of about $600-$800 to work with, so can I pull this off or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are so many to chose from that without knowing a budget it's hard to suggest anything. Entry level new gear can run less than $2k, hi-end new can run $$$$$ and change.
On thing is certain, you'll need plenty of power to drive the 150's, 200wpc minimum. -
Like I said, my budget is $600-$800. I was planning on buying used equipment off of ebay or something. I'm not looking for specifics or anything, just general comments and some opinions. Thanks for the help.Main-RTi150

At that budget you are not at a level for separates. You are in range of a decent, used 5.1 AVR and an added 2 ch amp.
Brand candidates are the common ones you see 'round here:
Denon, Onkyo, Sony...

I'd like to do this right the first time, but money does dictate what I can do. I have seen lots of positive comments here about Adcom. Checked ebay and found what looks to be pretty reasonable prices. Any comments on Adcom separates? I would like to get some feedback about specific model #'s, so I can do some more research. At this point, I think I would want a 4 channel amp and a tuner and/or preamp that can decode various surround sound signals. Thanks for the feedback.Main-RTi150

Take a look at the M-200 monoblocks from outlaw for your mains and keep your receiver for the remaining speakers.
