FS: SONOS Gear

I did a write-up on here a while back on the SONOS system and some other options (that I unfortunately cannot find now here in the new forum) and have really enjoyed the SONOS in the mix, but Ive decided to go in a different direction.

I have the SONOS Bridge and two of the Play:1 speakers, all in perfect condition with original boxes. I used the two speakers configured as a stereo pair and set up like this I prefer them over both the larger speakers in their line, these can be set up as individual speakers or as a stereo pair like I have them.

I would prefer to sell as a set so let's start there at $300+shipping or local sale. I do have stuff in my shopping carts at Best Buy and Amazon, so if you have gift cards for those laying around that'll work for payment as well.

The speakers are black, the Bridge I believe only comes in white.

If I understand correctly...the Bridge will not allow me to connect to my existing 2ch system...I would need the Connect for that.

    Is that correct?

That's correct, the Bridge is what you need to create the SONOS network and the Connect is how you would stream to an existing system.

Would I need a Bridge and a Connect to stream to an existing system if I didn't intend to add other SONOS devices, or could the Connect do it alone?

You'd need both, the Bridge sets up the network and the Connect and any SONOS speakers connect to that network.

SONOS is adding functionality to make their gear work off an existing WiFi network, but having it's own network is what makes their system work so well and is what I'd recommend.

Correction, if hardwired, then just the Connect is needed but if doing Wifi, then the Bridge is needed.

I believe they recently announced that the bridge was no longer absolutely necessary (even with no Connect wired to router);but that it was still recommended to boost the signal in large homes, or where there is heavy traffic, or where Sonos TV bar is used (I think that's right).

These Play 1's are pretty amazing. I use a stereo pair in the beach kitchen and I'm very pleased with the sound coming from them. They have a tiny footprint and neat looks, so you have good flexibility on placement. Just need power. I think the pair of 1's sound better than one Play5.

This is a very good price - much better than what I paid for used ones on eBay. If they were white, I'd definitely jump on them.

Yea, I was looking at a Connect because of the new Deezer Elite service supposedly being offered through SONOS exclusively starting today.

Supposed to be the first CD quality streaming service available in the US.

I want to be able to play it on my main system, but maybe branch out to satellite speakers at a later date.

Sorry for the de-rail Assimilated.....free bump!
