New car.....

I have had a 2005 Nissan Titan LE crew Cab since 2008 and it served me well, but had a ton of problems. I loved the truck and even though it was paid off, little things started adding up. The last straw was the ABS module going out and was going to cost over $2500 to fix it and a few other minor things. All of our cars had well over 100K miles so we decided it was time to get a new car. I have a good friend who is a general sales manager at a toyota dealership and gave us a great deal on a 2014 4Runner SR5. it was brand new (0miles literally just off the truck) and he hooked us up well. I have never owned a brand new car and am pretty excited about it. Way more comfortable than the truck obviously and much more commuter friendly. I will miss the truck but with the way this thing rides it may be an afterthought very soon.

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

    Nice! Enjoy it.

Been to the dealer a couple of times looking at the 2014 Avalon. I noticed the 2015 Highlander. What a nice vehicle....would be cool to own the Hybrid...but much too much for my budget.

We've had several 4Runners, including the first version of the model you bought, and had great luck with all of them. They are a good combination of ruggedness and comfort, one of the few SUVs left that's still built on a truck frame with a s solid rear axle - you give up some comfort but get a more rugged vehicle that is very capable off-road.

We've since moved on, but there are times we miss the T4R.

I absolutely love it; Admittedly I have to get used to the feeling of not having the raw power of the titan. Had a programmer, cai and dual exhaust on the titan and it was a mean truck. I loved it. But being a bit older now, having the kids and trying to save some fuel costs I have learned to be a little easier on the gas pedal. It is a very quiet and comfortable ride, so much so that it doesn't feel like a truck. It has the looks and abilities to off road of a truck but doesn't feel like one If that makes sense. I averaged 19.2 mpg on my first tank which is much better than the 12.5 I averaged in the titan. My kids love it - got the third row seat for trucking around their friends when needed. The third row will not fit an adult but is perfect for the kiddos. I am going to try to get it off road this weekend to see how capable but all the reviews and videos show that it is more than capable. I would like to do a few mods but trying to see what is out there that's worthwhile before just dumping money into it. Like I may have said in a previous post, it's the first brand new car I have bought and I am smitten. Would love to have this for a long time (my 10 year old has already called dibs when she turns 16)!!!!! I see no reason not to have this for at least a decade or longer....
