Making a mess

I have a couple of days off and a long weekend and just a few meetings next week as my clients are re-ramping for their new budget year so I have some time to change things around a bit in my 2C rig... I am making a few "holes" in the racks for some new EQ. Firstly my Parasound P5 should be here from AA tomorrow and a "new to me amp" will be here some time next week. I got a decent speaker/amp selector switch that I will hookup tonite that will allow me to switch my SDA SRS 2.3's and VR3 LSIM 703's between my Yaqin tube amp and my "new to me " amp. Looks to be a fun little project.

It looks like a mess right now, but in a week or so it should be rockin!

    Starting to de-mess today... The P5 came this morning... Nice job from the guys at AA. It is a very nice unit and I have decided I can live with the phono stage in the P5... not quite the Musical Surroundings Phonomena II but between that and Parasound 2100 pre I should be able to fetch some decent scarole to offset the cost of the P5. I tried doing a better job on my wiring and at least nothing is tangled and no power cords are going to interfere. I configured the Speaker/Amp switcher and am just waiting for the AMP to get here now.... but I am prepared now for it to arrive. I have a BIG space waiting for it...

    Back in business


    I reconnected the M80 to the new P5 so I could give a listen:

    I have my Yaqin and my Yamaha amps connected to the AMP/Speaker selector, I don't think I will switch amps hot, but switching speakers is cool.

    The P5 is really a sweet device... too early to... tell need to give it some burn in time.

    I will connect to balanced outs when new amp comes in...

    Already like it but it will only get mo better er.

    Been giving a listen to the P5 with different genres/sources and find it very pleasing all around...very detailed and it is dead quiet as you would expect. I said earlier I think I can live with the P5's phone pre...I am guessing that once you add another set of cables between the standalone pre that their isn't much of a sonic difference or perhaps I am convincing myself that it is so...I will test the P5's dac versus the SA8004's dac tomorrow and see if that buys me anything.
