    I had to take a double take. It looks exactly like an old 2252B I've got in the closet.

    I remember seeing that ad in either Stereo Review or High Fidelity. I still have a Marantz 2226 in the closet, but it needs new lamps. Ahhh, the blue tuner of those Marantz.

    You can get the replacement lamps on ebay for about 5 bucks a set. REAL easy to replace, just snap out the old ones and snap in the new ones. I just did it to mine.

    I used to run my Dad's 4270 with a couple of Marantz speakers as well. It started have issues like tuner would move and channels going in and out. He paid a pretty penny for back in the 70's. I put two of those speaks on top the "closets" in my dorm room at Tech and could blow all the new stuff on my hall away!

    Those speakers had like 12" woofer, a weinie 3" midrange and some little tweeter. They were all paper if I remember correctly. He's using 4 of them in his shop hooked up to cheapy Kenwood receiver.

    I feel your pain fellas, for those that sold their goodies.

    I picked up a Marantz 2252b at the local thrift mart for $19, just needed some bulbs. Sold it for $140 a month later, wish I hadn't.

    Troy has a couple, I hope he still has me down for the 2215, otherwise I'm kickin him square in the ballbag next time I see him.

    Still have mine. Bought it new in '77. Got some crackley pots or I'd be using now. Fixing it is on my list of things to do and I'll build a 2 channel rig around it.
