It appears that 3/4ths of the regulars have either not figured out how to get back on and still think the site is down, or they have gone silent...

They probably have the old web address bookmarked and don't realize the change. I don't think DSkip has shown up yet. You know, this is all his fault! He brought the average age of Polk members down, so they tried to make this forum more appealing to a younger audience. :D

I didn't think it was up either....a link from the old addy would have been...um, common sense. If nobody sent me the new addy, thanks Herm, I'd still be smoldering.

Seems much slower than usual. Boy did I ever pick the wrong time to get ready to start the modification process on some of my speakers. I knew I should have asked more questions months back... :s

At least the Simpsons marathon is on, I'll check back after that as most page changes will probably be made by then and the room should be flowing back to a more normal state B)

    +1.

This was the problem that I encountered. My bookmark was permanently FIXED on "site is down for upgrades, will be back soon" Patrick C (as IF PATRICK didn't leave Polk quite a WHILE AGO)! Hey boys! Get your SXXT together, Patrick has not been Webmaster here for ages.

It finally occurred to me that I should just go to the POLK site and see if there were NEW MENUS! In all fairness, something like that was mentioned in passing in KS's thread about the change over, but it was a tad ambiguous.

Polk should send out a GENERAL PM to ALL active members that will APPEAR in their email box and tell them what they NEED TO DO!

I had to call CS 3 times before I was given the correct info how to find the new forum.

Thanks. I did notice that so I "think" I took them out for now until I can do that, no?

I haven't seen DK (Ray) at all so far. I haven't seen Jesse (F1Nut) for a couple days now. I know Jesse knows where to go as he's been on here a couple times. I think he doesn't like the new format of the forum and is waiting for the tweaks to continue to fruition. Either that, or (like Jstas) he hates all of us. :#

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

I just have no desire to relearn yet another forum revision...

I've been through more forum revamps than I could count and unfortunately, it usually signals a death knell of sorts.

Most especially when they ignore the complaints of the majority of members because it doesn't match what they were told by their focus group (which never represents their primary current members).
Sitting here looking at the forum, aside from poor color choices, the fact that the posts themselves only take up 1/3rd of the real estate of my monitor with the rest displaying mainstream products I either care nothing about or will never buy, it makes me cringe.

I have seen too many forums succumb to what someone thinks is best, only to see them slowly fade into obscurity.

Yup, I kept going to the bookmark. I didn't think it took 5 days to reboot a forum, so went to the main page.

I went a week with the old bookmark seeing Patricks message I was thinking yeah more spare time on my hands, until fellow Polk Forum member Tekay007 made me aware of where to go thanks Terry. I was on the Gon and Steve Hoffmans forum to get me by. Nothing like home sweet home hanging out with former Club Polk members now known as Polk Audio members!

I'm no computer genius, but couldn't they change the message on the old bookmarked page to "join us at our new site", with a link, rather than the misleading note from Patrick, who is no longer with us? (Professionally, that is)

Nah... that would not only make way to much sense, but it would also have been to easy for PFB to figure out.

It only took me a week to go to polk audio in general and find the forum tab. I've been refreshing the old bookmark everyday....the dt's were really getting to me.

Not a big fan of the change thus far, but it'll be ok after getting used to it. I miss the new posts button. I suppose recent discussions is similar but not the same really. Oh well. At least we still have a forum.
