Auto logout is completely annoying

Automatically being logged out every 30 minutes is insane. This isn't an online banking site, it's an audio forum. There is no reason why this forum shouldn't have an option to select where you can choose to remain logged in. Auto logout will absolutely lead to me using the forum less often.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Agree 100%. Absolutely terrible upgrade. Somebody should lose their job for this disaster.

Mmmmm, I wouldn't go that far. Plenty of time to tweak a few things and improve the experience a lot. Let's not go firing people. But the auto logout needs to be one of the tweaks.

Yep, stepped away for an hour to do some chores and I come back and have to sign back in! Annoying, maybe Firefox has a setting?? If someone knows please enlighten, because this is getting old real fast.

Plus one, as they say... practically speaking, I'd rank this as one of the bigger "issues" (as opposed to aesthetic matters) of the new forum s/w.

Interesting. I wonder why IE has kept me logged in all day?

Perhaps because programming for IE is an afterthought these days? :p

This is a major annoyance to me. I often have tabs I leave open for reading later or for future reference, but now they close themselves up, often before I've even looked at them. Probably my #1 "fix this, please" thing at the moment.

Weird, sometimes it keeps me logged in and sometimes it times out. A "remember me" box or "keep me logged in" option would sure be nice...

I really don't mind change, so long as there is a logical reason for it. I fail to see the logic for most of what was done here

Using Firefox and I'm staying logged in even after I close my browser. No idea how/why as I haven't changed any settings...not on purpose anyway.

I'm using Chrome and the auto logout has been somewhat erratic. If I close the browser and come back hours later, I'm still logged in. But, if I let the browser sit for a period of time with the forum up but I'm not actively browsing (e.g. walk away from the PC), then it boots me after a period of time.

So it seems I'm only getting auto logged out if I have the forum loaded but am idle.

It does seem like forced logoff has been turned off. My session now seems to remain logged in. I'm using Safari on the Mac.

I use Chrome, and I also get logged out if I leave the page open for awhile. But if I close the page, I can come back even after a re-boot, and I'm still logged in. Very odd.

The old site used to do that to unless you hit the button that prevented you from being thrown off.

The question now is: Where is that BUTTON!

I just logged in again and noticed they have added a "keep me signed in " box. Sounds like they are listening...
